PŘEDSEDA EP PŘIVÍTAL JMENOVÁNÍ KOORDINÁTORA EU PROTI TERORU

Předseda Evropského parlamentu Hans-Gert Pöttering přivítal jmenování Gillese de Kerchova, koordinátora EU proti teroru. Pana de Kerchova jmenoval včera do funkce  generální tajemník a vysoký představitel pro SZBP pan Javier Solana. H.-G. Pöttering prohlásil, že jmenování nového protiteroristického koordinátora je důležité pro koordinaci práce Rady Evropské unie a pro posílení role EU v boji proti terorismu.

Hans-Gert Pöttering welcomes the appointment of a  new EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator

The President of the European Hans-Gert Pöttering today welcomed the appointment by Javier Solana, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, of Mr Gilles de Kerchove as the new EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator.

"The appointment of a new Counter-Terrorism Coordinator is important for the coordinating of the work of the Council and strengthening the role of the EU in the fight against terrorism.

We must never let down our guard in the fight against terrorism, one of the greatest threats to our democracy. The appointment of a new Counter-Terrorism Coordinator as a successor to Gijs de Vries is a sign that the EU will continue to remain vigilant in the face of this danger", said President Pöttering in Brussels.

Hans-Gert Pöttering begrüsst Ernennung eines neuen
EU Anti-Terror Koordinators

Der Präsident des Europäischen Parlaments, Hans-Gert Pöttering, hat die Ernennung von Gilles de Kerchove zum neuen EU Anti-Terror Koordinator durch Javier Solana, den Hohen Vertreter für die Gemeinsame Aussen- und Sicherheitspolitik, begrüsst.



"Die Ernennung eines neuen EU Anti-Terror Koordinators ist wichtig, um die Arbeit des Rates zu koordinieren und die Rolle der Europäischen Union im Kampf gegen den Terrorismus zu stärken.  



Wir dürfen in unserer Wachsamkeit im Kampf gegen den Terrorismus, der eine der grössten Gefahren für die Demokratie darstellt, nicht nachlassen. Die Ernennung eines neuen EU Anti-Terror Koordinators als Nachfolger von Gijs de Vries setzt ein Zeichen, dass die Europäische Union auch weiterhin mit aller Wachsamkeit gegen diese Gefahr vorgehen wird", erklärte Hans-Gert Pöttering in Brüssel.
